Following on from my post about Why Tablets Are Better Than Laptops, here are 5 reasons why the reverse could be true. Why are laptops better than tablets.
- Storage - Today most laptops have at least a 500Gb hard disk drive. That's four times more storage than most tablets.
- Keyboard - When it comes to typing long documents or emails nothing is better than a real keyboard, especially if you're a touch typist.
- Software - When you have software to get the job done when you're sitting at your desk, you really want the same software available when you go mobile. For a lot of people their laptop is also their desktop, so when you disconnect from the docking station and leave your desk you still have all the software you would normally use.
- CD/DVD Drive - Having a CD/DVD Drive is mighty handy when you want to watch that demonstration DVD that your customer has just handed you.
- Compatability - There are certain standards used by all those in the computing world. Things like USB ports, SD memory card slots, HDMI ports. Having a laptop with some, if not all, of these types of connections makes life a lot easier.
